John G Russell (Transport) Ltd, one of Scotland’s leading logistics companies, has recently invested in a 265,000 sq. ft. warehouse facility to accommodate its continued business growth.

The newly purchased warehouse, situated in Cumbernauld, Glasgow, will add value to Russell’s existing warehousing and distribution solutions, offering further storage to new and existing customers. As market demands increase, the Group has ambitious plans for growth and said the new site will be vital towards its success.

Russell said: “The warehouse purchase is a significant investment and compliments Russell’s existing portfolio of over 1 million sq. ft. of warehousing across Scotland. We have several customers who require ongoing storage and distribution services; the new site enables us to provide this on a larger scale and gives us the opportunity to provide our offering to new customers. The site is now fully operational with customers already taking advantage of the added storage space.”

Russell has been providing logistics solutions across the UK since 1969 and now has over 250 vehicles, 14 depots and 600 employees. The Cumbernauld site, strategically located beside the M80, is a welcome addition to Russell’s range of logistics services which currently include domestic and international transport by road and rail, warehousing, contract packing and e-fulfilment. It is through Russell’s highly skilled and dedicated employees, industry experience and service excellence, that the company has grown to where it is today. Russell has the resources, knowledge and innovative practices to work in partnership with customers to proactively manage the supply chain, enabling customers to focus on their core activities.
