Celebrating One Year of Growth and Partnership at Russell RailRoad Ltd
As we approach the one-year anniversary of acquiring the Freightliner Coatbridge Terminal and the founding of Russell RailRoad Ltd, we reflect on the milestones we've reached and the progress we've made. Over the past year, our team has worked tirelessly to deliver promises, strengthen partnerships, and invest in the future of rail freight solutions.
Strengthening Our Long-Term Partnership with Tesco
Russell Logistics and Russell RailRoad Ltd are pleased to share the extension of our long-standing partnership with Tesco. This collaboration now sees Russell Group supporting Tesco’s intermodal services through the Coatbridge Rail Terminal.
With DRS providing the rail service and Russell Group overseeing terminal operations and distribution, services successfully commenced in September. This extension further solidifies our 20+ year relationship with Tesco, as we work together to provide reliable and sustainable rail freight solutions.
James Gell, Director of Russell RailRoad, states: "This new service aligns with our shared vision for a greener future, reducing environmental impact through sustainable transport solutions. We’re eager to continue strengthening our partnership with Tesco and deliver on our commitments every day."
This success has led to the creation of 16 new job opportunities and the introduction of a 4 on, 4 off shift pattern, supporting our continued excellence in customer service.
Russell and Freightliner: A Growing Partnership
Russell RailRoad is proud to deepen our collaboration with Freightliner, continuing their rail services following the acquisition of the Coatbridge Rail Terminal.
Together, our efforts are already making a significant impact. We are enhancing services to and from Scotland, better meeting the needs of our customers and expanding our reach in the Scottish intermodal market.
Investing in Our Future: Groundworks and Fleet Expansion
At Russell RailRoad, we are building a stronger, faster, and more reliable rail and terminal operation. As part of our commitment to innovation, we've invested in new groundworks at our Coatbridge facility. This infrastructure development has improved operations and enhanced the experience for our employees, partners, and customers.
Additionally, we’ve replaced 14 of our vehicles, strengthening our ability to meet customer demand and continue delivering exceptional service.
