Class 1 Drivers

John G Russell is a leading provider in the rail freight industry, dedicated to delivering efficient and reliable transportation solutions. We are seeking skilled and motivated Class 1 Drivers to join our dynamic team at our Coatbridge site.

We are currently looking to recruit Class 1 drivers based at our depot in Coatbridge. These opportunities are for dayshift & afternoons/Evenings on various shift patterns (working shift pattern from Thursday – Monday or Friday – Tuesday, four on four off and weekends ) for dedicated, hardworking individuals with a proven track record. Previous container experience is preferable but not essential. Immediate starts available.

Role Summary

  • Full time, permanent role

  • 45 hour per week contract with overtime available

  • Hourly rate: Monday-Friday £15.26. Saturday-Sunday £22.90 (Weekday overtime rate £19.09 & Nightshift Allowance £25.94 per shift)

  • 28 days annual leave

  • Must be flexible regarding start times

  • Must be polite, friendly and approachable as dealing with customers on a daily basis

  • Maintain safe working practices at all times

Skills / Qualifications

  • Valid Cat C+E License (preference is to have held your license for a minimum of 2 years with a proven track record in a similar industry)

  • Valid Driver CPC

  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of Tachograph rules and regulations

  • Proficient in load securing

  • Good communication skills
