What does this job involve?

You will carry out a variety of duties including:

• Handling of customer enquiries with regards to help and support with bookings and references
• Performing general traffic office admin duties as and when required
• Input data to the terminal operating system CYMAN so that container movement records & container storage records are kept accurate and up to date.
• Utilise the systems functionality to plan rail container movements
• Planning containers to the trains daily ensuring they travel to the correct destination
• Liaising with the road department to support on time deliveries
• Liaising with the terminal operations team to ensure terminal efficiency
• Liaising with rail customers to load trains to customer expectations and requirements
• Ensuring all activities and operations are performed within current service KPI’s
• Subject to competence/skill you may be required to perform any other duties that are relevant with your grade

Key Skills (Essential/Desirable)

The successful candidate will have the following skills/experience:

• Demonstrate a strong customer service focus.
• Highly organised and able to work to challenging deadlines whilst maintaining compliance
• Proficient in the use of standard industry software including a good working knowledge of Excel.
• Ability to work to strict timescales
• Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team together with the ability to problem solve for customers
• Good oral and written communication skills
• Accurate with the input of numerical data
• Ideally have the knowledge/appreciation of container ISO standards
• Experience using CYMAN or another similar terminal operating system would be advantageous

For the successful candidate, work will be;

• 4 on 4 off (12hr shifts ) or;

• 5 from 7 based on a three shift rotation (days/backs/nights)
