Graduate Trainee – Finance

Hillington, Glasgow Full-Time, 40 hours per week | Permanent | CIMA Study Support

Kick-Start Your Finance Career with One of the UK’s Leading Logistics Companies

We’re currently recruiting a Graduate Trainee to join our busy Finance team based at our Hillington site. This is a fantastic opportunity for a recent graduate in Accounting or Finance who’s ready to gain hands-on experience while studying towards their CIMA qualification.

What you will do

As part of your structured training programme, you will gain hands-on experience across key areas of the finance function — including Purchase Ledger, Sales Ledger, Payroll, and Management Accounts. During your time in each team, you will be involved in a range of core tasks such as:

  • Process purchase invoices daily, from digital conversion to authorisation
  • Investigate and resolve invoice queries in a timely manner
  • Set up new suppliers and validate VAT and bank details
  • Process employee expense reimbursements as needed
  • Perform supplier statement reconciliations
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records
  • Allocate daily customer receipts
  • Prepare and issue customer statements of account
  • Resolve payment discrepancies, disputes, and billing issues
  • Raise monthly ad-hoc sales ledger invoices
  • Reconcile inter-company accounts
  • Assist with payroll processing
  • Support preparation of weekly Business Unit costings
  • Contribute to monthly management account preparation
  • Perform other duties as required by management

What We’re Looking For

  • A relevant degree in Accounting or Finance (minimum 2:1)
  • Commitment to working towards a CIMA qualification
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy
  • Excellent numeracy and communication skills
  • Proactive and enthusiastic team player
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Eagerness to learn and grow within the role
  • This role will involve occasional travel to other Group sites across the Central Belt of Scotland, so having a full driving licence and access to a car would be beneficial.

What We Offer

  • Competitive graduate starting salary
  • Full CIMA study support package
  • Contributory pension scheme
  • On-the-job training and development
  • Long-term career progression opportunities
  • Supportive and friendly team environment
  • Experience within one of the UK’s top private logistics companies
